Celebrating Pride With Jewelry

Being a staple in the West Village for over 25 years has granted me the opportunity to see this area grow and change throughout the years. At the heart of all that change is a community that I am so proud to be a part of. Since the store opened in 1993 the LGBTQ+ community has taken such big strides towards equality and acceptance. That is one thing I was sure about when opening Catherine Angiel, I didn’t want it to feel like your average jewelry store experience because I’m not your average artist. So, I had the idea to create a line of commitment rings and quickly became a destination for same sex couples who, at the time, couldn’t legally get married. I wanted to change the stigma that you couldn’t come into a jewelry store to buy wedding bands if you were a same sex couple.  As times have changed I still hold true to myself by striving to show my passion through all of my work and creating pieces that will make anyone wearing them feel like their true self. This year for pride, I am having a celebration at the Catherine Angiel store with discounts on commitment and weddings bands, champagne and treats from Mah Ze Dahr Bakery! Come celebrate pride with us on June 24th!
