Congratulations! You're engaged, you're knee deep in wedding planning, and the next thing on your to-do list is to order your wedding bands. Where do you start? And how do you find the perfect match for your engagement ring that you'll love for years to come? Diamond expert and designer Catherine Angiel shares the advice she gives to clients who are trying to decide how their engagement rings and wedding rings should compliment each other.
Tiara Band with the Three Stone Engagement Ring
"Choosing a wedding ring that embodies your unique style, feels timeless, and suits the kinds of activities you engage in on a daily basis are important things to consider," says Catherine. "Will you wear the band on it's own without the engagement ring? Do you want the engagement ring to sit flush with the wedding band?"
Read on to discover how to narrow down your options and choose the perfect wedding band.
The First Step
The first step to consider is if a flat band can sit flush with your engagement ring. Take the below style, for example. It is set high enough that a band can sit underneath the diamond, flush with the band of the ring.
However, if you have a low profile style like below, you might want to consider choosing a curved band to compliment the engagement ring and fit perfectly around the diamond.
The Second Step
From there you'll want to think about what style you prefer. There are endless options! "We have a beautiful selection of wedding bands, from pave bands to tiara rings. I love helping clients select the perfect wedding ring that not only compliments their engagement ring, but compliments their partner's band as well." - Catherine Angiel. Pave diamond bands are timeless and classic. Vintage inspired styles often have more detail and may incorporate other diamond cuts like marquise diamonds. Below are some of our favorite wedding ring styles to start you on your journey to finding the perfect symbol of your love!
