All That Glitters | Pyrite Resurrected | Unique Minerals Celebrated June 20 2014, 0 Comments
All that glitters isn't always gold, but who cares! Recently jewelry artist Catherine Angiel has been inspired by pyrite, an earth mineral that most people know as 'Fool's Gold'. Pyrite has been used to make jewelry for centuries, reaching the height of its popularity during the Victorian era. A mineral that evokes images of fire and warmth, pyrite literally comes from the Greek word for fire, Catherine found that it fit right in with her modern-vintage aesthetic. Aside from being known as 'Fool's Gold', pyrite has been called 'healer's gold' and is used as a gemstone for protection and promoting a happy state of mind.
